In this paper a novel blind watermarking scheme for video authentication is presented. First, the RGB video sequence is partitioned into units of fixed length. Then by choosing the redchannels of the video frames, the video shots undergo a 3D discrete wavelet transform. By using a spread spectrumtechnique and two different pseudo random number sequences the watermark is embedded into 3D coefficients of HL, LH, andHH. In the extraction step, the original video is not needed, namely, blind detection. So, the resulting watermarking scheme can be used for public watermarking applications, where theoriginal video is not available for watermark extraction. The experimental results show the high performance of the proposedmethod for transparency and robustness. Also, the excellent robustness of the proposed method against the attacks such as frame averaging, median filtering, Gaussian noise and H.264 compression are attained
